McBride seeks to become Colorado’s first unaffiliated governor, stating, “People are tired of political extremists. With 50% of voters in Colorado registered as unaffiliated, it's time we had an unaffiliated governor who is loyal to the people rather than political parties. Voters should have an independent governor who works for the people not the powerful.” McBride encourages diverse political views but promotes civility and respect for all Coloradans. “We need to stop the childish name calling and dirty political attacks that divides us. We should be able to discuss policies and at times disagree respectfully. Let’s get back to civility,” McBride emphasized.
